Communicating with learners about AI use

Reengaging learner motivation and engagement. Re-centering human presence and relationships in your classes

Evaluating current online tools

Understanding what is a trend and what is a critical aid to learning and skills development in the world of AI.

Rethinking assignments and assessments to minimize the possibility of AI-assisted cheating

Going beyond AI detectors and addressing systemic issues.

How it works

You and up to 8 members of your team will inventory what you are bringing to the AI conversation, tracking your pressures, your questions, and your skills. Then, we will map out who your learner is, and how they are thinking about AI.  A facilitator will help you identify where you and your learners connect—and where you diverge—and guide you in strategies to co-create learning practices in your classroom, whether it is in-person or online. By working through a structured conversation about the realities of student needs and your capacity as instructors, you’ll build a fresh picture of your learning space and where the use of AI might help or prevent learning. Following the lab, your Onlea facilitator will share a summary of team breakthroughs and best practices to shape your AI game plan.
